Changing my future within 24 hours

I know what everyone says... That it's important to do what you love etc. How about if two things you love are in conflict with each other? Prioritize, right?
I love Law and I love International Economics/Business. So that combination was what I was planning to do all along. However having done my first International Business paper this past semester, I now realise the amount of workload involved together with Law far exceeds what I had in mind. My International Economics/Business papers next year all require highly time-consuming research essays and case studies. I can write essays, but I take a considerable amount of time. My overarching strength lies in mathematics and numbers. The Law component has enough research essays for me to do, and I want to put more time into Law instead of Commerce. So I don't want my Commerce load crushing my Law grades. Aside from that, Finance seems to have a richer and broader future than Economics and International Business because large firms tend to be more interested in Accounting/Law, Finance/Law or Taxation/Law people. But Finance just sounds so much more boring than what I had planned before and I'm really scared of what I'm going to face in it.
I don't know what's with all these "big" sudden decisions I make right after a downfall in something. For example, "suddenly" deciding to skip my last year of high school right after breaking up in 2006 because there are supposed to be more and bigger fish in the sea. (Which turned out to be oh-so-wrong but it was a great decision anyway.)
And I think I sort of freaked my friend out by declaring to change my commerce major in the last minute. I start my next semester in a week and I'm having to change all my future papers. My originally-organised future plan is now a complete mess and I feel like I'm facing a new and uncertain three years ahead.
I really do believe Finance would give me a better future with more choices in the future. I just hope that I'll grow to enjoy it so I won't be stuck with something I find boring and fail all the way. I wouldn't call this giving up something I love but perhaps a trade-off in the process of practically considering future workload and career prospects.
And the winner this Winter is...

Lucy! The correct number was 712. Plugs to Shen-Shen too for getting the answer 12 minutes after Lucy.
And no one else managed to read my mind.
(For those who missed it, I'm referring to the Winter Competition 2008.)
The numbers were on the pages History, The Pillars of the Earth and Resources. Number 7 was apparently the hardest; or in other words, the males were especially hopeless at finding it.

What I found really funny was the number of page views on the day the competition was launched:

I know for a fact that the number was boosted so much thanks to a particular few males who failed to read paragraph 5 and ended up searching through my blog archives.
Note: they are not bolded together with other words e.g. "level 16" is ok, but "level 6" and "2006" are not. They are also not part of headings, links or any of my blog entries.
Sigh. Males. Sigh.
(I use the great Clicky to track my site statistics!)
Well, this "thing" I'm giving to Lucy for a gift... She'd probably go all "WTF" at me because it's really quite "wtf" for a person who's spent a while finding numbers on my sitemap-less site. But once she receives it, she's obligated to blog about it. So you'll all see it then. Don't worry Lucy, it's not flavoured condoms. I promise.
Not-so-recommended Firefox extensions

Most of you would've seen blog recommendations of Firefox extensions anywhere and everywhere. And from anywhere and everywhere you would've heard of the all-time-famous Adblock Plus, Web Developer, FireFTP and so on; so there's no need for me to redundantly talk about them again. In fact, most of the "famous" ones which I use can be found on my list from last year. And funnily enough, what I said from last year is true now:
If I haven't had what I would call a decent level of self-control, this list would be doubled the length.
From last year's 21 extensions, I now have exactly 41 dammit.
So this year I'm presenting a handful of extensions I love which (1) aren't on my list from last year and (2) I don't see in blog recommendations anywhere and everywhere. In alphabetical order:
- Codetch: I only installed this morning so I haven't had the chance to test it out. But it's a code editor with functions including validation, FTP, JavaScript debugging and what-not. It looks promising.
- FireGestures: having had Opera as my default browser for over a year before, mouse gestures has become second nature to me while browsing.
- FireShot: the most advanced screenshot-taking extension I've come across. Allows screenshots of selected areas, annotations and drawings. No less than "godly".
- Full Fullscreen: clicking F11 used to keep the toolbar and tabs bar (I think). But now you get to use the entire screen. Used especially when taking full screenshots.
- Google Notebook: Firefox extension for Google Notebook. I use it to save code snippets or random notes.
- GooglePreview: adds thumbnails to Google and Yahoo search results. Useful to see if the websites look legitimate enough. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover but hey, whatever.
- Picnik: easy for importing images into Picnik for quick editing. I really don't like opening Photoshop just to resize or crop an image.
- Smart Bookmarks Bar: I have so many bookmarks in my bookmarks toolbar they just don't fit in the "default way". So I display them as favicons with title appearing on-hover. I find it easier to recognise sites by their favicons and it looks prettier that way too!
- Undo Closed Tabs Button: I just can't stop clicking this button.

All the above are compatible with Firefox 3. Just shoot me if you have heard of all of them before from other people's blogs because it would mean I have failed my purpose of introducing not-so-recommended extensions.
And if you haven't already, check out Appassionato's Winter Competition 2008!
