A snapshot of youth

I started three designs and got stuck. Seems like I've lost my old sense of "artistic" designs and started joining in the trend of the whole "clean and simple" blog designs. Don't know whether that's a good thing or not but I'm not very good with it either. Official design block and driving me nuts. Any inspiration ideas? Here's me on the verge of scraping my latest design.
So in place of my design block, I opened up a new canvas in Photoshop and started more doodling in reminiscence of my high school days last year. I welcome my gang: Meep/Eeep from me, BoBo from Jennifer (I fail to draw the evolved version) and the r3t4Rd3d Momo from Mona.

I remember how we'd very naively sing It's a Small World to my lyrics and the junior girls would look at us with unanimous weird expressions since they had always thought we were "mature" senior students.
The bulk of our comic strips were evil acts against Mo because well... It's a pretty... r3t4Rd3d-looking goldfish.

And I just procrastinated more from studying. But today's the first day of my two-week holidays, give me a break. Now I need design inspiration, inspiration, inspiration... They're looking so plain and boring and doodling makes me blanker. Grrr.

@Nellie: Lol boobies. The creator of Momo is very innocent though! Study? Shh. But I know, I have five tests once school starts again.

I agree with Nellie, Momo certainly looks like boobs to me!!

And mmm... I have the whole "clean and simple" over influence too... =/ -

I have suffered from clean-and-simple-itis, too. I used to do a bunch of photos, but now I can't be arsed.
Hee, those drawings are too cute. Nellie is right, they do look like boobs to me! -

I hope the design block ends soon

Aww they are quite cute -

I'm in a design block as well. I attempted to create a new layout yesterday, but in the end, it started to look really bad. You should make a layout as well... heh. Just kidding, unless you want to, which you probably don't. Momo in the ice cube is a really neat picture. I was never able to draw a cube shape properly. No wonder I'm getting such bad marks in geometry...

The breast reference never occurred to me. Heh. I also had a doodle buddy in high school. We'd be in Mandarin class, but we'd be drawing retarded characters whenever we got the chance. An example: link
The best way to get out of a design block is to keep on designing. Things don't magically come back to me so I just trudging along, however slowly, until I get out of my rough spot. You don't have to end up using your designs, it's just a way of practicing and getting your ideas constantly flowing.
Simple and clean is certainly nice, but I try not to let it dominate too much. Versatility is a must. -

I can't saw anything. The last designs I have done have all been song lyrics. I am sick of song lyircs. When I need inspiration I go & visit other web designers. I never take their ideas, but I visit them. Maybe go & look at photographs or something.

TBH, I thought that goldfish were boobies the first time I saw it. I feel so corrupted, lol.
Hrmm, I usually look at stuff from dA and those CSS galleries. It usually doesn't inspire me like *snaps*, but it does give me an idea on what I want on my designs :3
Hope you find some design inspiration soon!

Woops... I didn't realize it was a goldfish. o.O
Um... Momo. Yeah. XD
Draw penguins? :3
I switched to blogspot because I was tired of making my own layouts for my blog. XD /failz -

I had a design block for a long time *looks at my blog. The design has been there since it was launched which is two months, the longest a design has been kept without a change* I've got inspiration now, yes, but then I've just got a pang of laziness on me

Cute characters
and I like the comic strip lol. -

Nice layout, I love the colours.
I know what you mean about being without inspiration, all of my skins look the same... I pretend it's a continuity thing, but actually I just don't know what else to do XD And I didn't realise that was a goldfish at first either, lol. We're all corrupted, it seems! -

well, I'm definitely afflicted with clean-n-simple right now. But I swear it's my laziness that's the origin of it all.
I'm sure it'll lift...just try to stare at some nice art collections. I love the one's the aethereality gallery. Very inspirational lol -

I really like this design, but I see where you're coming from. Most of the layouts on my site lately have been the clean and simple kind. I can't come up with anything truly artistic anymore. I don't know what happened.

Haha, so cute. I have heaps of doodles in my old books, but their quite embarrassing to look back at haha.
Momo looked like bikini's to me =D
Un-evolved Bobo is adorable, and Eeep... I can't really figure out the evolved version lol. Scribblez!
Nooo! Must list design-block! *murmurs trying to hypnotise Rilla* =D well, at least don't get lazy as I have. I hit a design-block, then got lazier and lazier and never returned to art... I kinda miss it, but now when I pick up pens to draw, I feel so stuck and give up again. Procrastination rawr!
Ah okays, take care =) -

Those are cute! I like eep, and momo.
but eep the best. It's a great way to procrastinate.

Momo is adorable!
I'm stuck for creativeness too, everythings so simple nowadays, its boring!

Is it just me and my dirty mind or does Momo look like a five year old drew a set of boobies and tried to disguise it as something else so they wouldn't get in trouble?
Apparently, said holidays is not actually a break for the students... it's a "teaching recess". Which means there's no excuse for the procrastination!
