WordPress murdered my juice

The way out of a design-block is to rant about a design-block on your blog, because I just finished my first WordPress template! It was the third design I said I was on the verge of scraping, but right after the rant post I changed the colour scheme and now it's complete... After three days.
So I finally get to open my virtually empty Resources section... After two months. It's only virtually empty because I have stacks of PHP tutorials sitting in the corner of my D drive.
Coding the template for WordPress sucked the juice out of my brain and I'm waiting for it to recover in 24 hours. Perhaps because it was a first attempt, but I thought it really did have the potential of driving an inexperienced sane person nuts, let alone a somewhat insane young lady like me. I had to do several peek-a-boos in the default WordPress theme and Han's How to write your own wordpress theme. But there's always differences between one coding/tutorial and your own template so that was... trouble.
Well, I'm satisfied with the design because I actually feel like using it for my site design. I guess if you could create a pre-made design that you think is good enough for your actual site, then it should be reasonably good enough for you to offer to visitors.
I'm going to see if working on my Statistics assignment will help recover my sweet brain juice. Critiques and error reports for the template (or anything on the entire site, really) is welcome.

Ahh, what a pretty theme! Green and red too, a colour scheme I rarely see used, hahaha.
The only thing I noticed is something about the line background and the text not quite matching. O_o
-

@Eina: That was on purpose because I don't really want the whole absolutely neat and rigid look there.

-

I could never code a Wordpress theme. Ever. They ended up looking awful, so I switched to Textpattern. Congratulations on coding a Wordpress theme though.
The design looks very nice. I like the tabs on the side. Now, if I had even half your talent when designing layouts, I would be satisfied.
-

Goodness, that design is VERY beautiful. I'll be using it in the very near future

It has such a great choice of colors...
I'm glad it wasn't scraped! -

Brings cherries and apples is my mind. Beautiful. Colours go well together.
-

Yay new template! It looks well done, but I think the gradient on the left column is a little... severe? As in, maybe it might do with less colour change... but I dunno that's just me.
-

Holy crow! that's awesome! I love the colors. I can't wait to see more! *hint hint* ;)
And the money, they are thinking about resizing some of our bills also, along with making slight color changes.

Good one
I like it
Simple and neat, and especially the tabs is what I like. Great job
And I'm still on a design block. Whee~ -

The theme is pretty. And it uses a rather special colour scheme =P

Oh my gosh, Rilla. It is simply amazing. Simply amazing. I don't know why you ever doubted it. I love that you offer it in the two forms. It is simply wonderful. I may even have to change Amarantine to use yours. I love it that much.
-

@Belinda: I'm not sure about the gradient. It was more "severe" originally but on my screen it looks fine. I'll do some work if anyone else thinks it's too severe though.

I didn't know people would like the tabs. I was really going to scrape that. -

Arg. I couldn't even type my e-mail address. =_= My brain must be friend from my inability to do my psychology homework... D:
I like it.
It's simple but it has so many little details to it. XD But I still do like this layout. :O
If only I knew how to use wordpress.... XD -

Looks like getting the design-block's all worth it: it's superb! So pretty - colours remind me of watermelon (I always thought of greens and reds as the fruit anyways ;)) AH, now I really feel like designing again. I may just have that problem coding it to be Wordpress-friendly - it took me ages the last time and that was, way too long ago.
Oh and the tabs are cool; I think it's rather unique. -

Nice design and I like

-

spandex is fabric - clingy - elastic-y - fabric that sticks to your curves. So..yeah.
Oooh, I like what i see. The tabs, if you're worried, make the design very savvy, but adds to the notebook feel - which is what I think you're trying to create. -

wow! that's really something
congratulations! maybe i should try reading that tutorial too! thanks for the link ;) -

Ooooh, a very pretty design indeed, Rilla. I think I need to start making a new layout for myself, but I'm scared of having my juices murdered too

-

ive tried TWICE to do a wordpress theme and as you can see..im w/ cutenews now, so im guessing you know how that went. yes it WILL drive you crazy!!
-

I love the theme. The tabs for the navigation is very neat - I have seen something similar before but I like it a lot. I hope that when you have regained your juices more themes will be coming from you.
-

Great theme! I like the tabs; I've seen them around a lot as well, and tabs seem to be in style =D
It's really great of you for offering the template for both regular and wordpress layouts. (and .zip & .rar). -

I'm now using it on FaeDubh
It rocks!
My only two complaints are:
a) if the links on the sidebar are too long, it overflows and the image doesn't expand. I had to get rid of the "previous posts" section (which is fine, but might not be for other users)
b) the tabs don't expand either. "Write For FaeDubh" wouldn't fit XP
But very very cool -

@Skye: Thanks for the suggestions! I'll go around to fixing that in the coming week.

Found you through calmbanana.co.uk. Glad you liked my weird CSS nose thing. And I just had to comment when I saw you were from NZ as well.
Anyway, enough of that. The design is beautiful, and I am off to go use it now.

Nice theme! I hate design-block. I always do that- except I make a theme for another one of my websites and end up using it on my blog.
