Life gone nuts

12 November 2007, 8:14 pm. View comments. Filed under Coding, Personal.

I decided to change quite a lot of background coding stuff with the new layout, and it's becoming a pain in the arse. I'm trying to keep minimal PHP files around and have the pages stored in databases instead so that I could access them anywhere with Internet. Funny, because for the next four months of summer holidays (Southern Hemisphere) I'd be going nowhere apart from home. And since I'm not going to get around to working on a new administration panel until I finish all the other pages... Life is bad when you have to update with the ugly phpMyAdmin. It has this problem of inserting double entries when I only want one. Dammit, I only want one.

What bothers me the most though, is my mouth. I've been ranting here and there about my mouth for the past week or so; that is, four wisdom teeth plucked out at the same time. My face isn't really swollen anymore but my jaws are still stiff. I have to live on soft or liquid foods for another one or two weeks. I was skinny enough before the surgery and I'm definitely going down the bony track now. Life is sooo nutty without good food. I already gave up on NaNoWriMo due to the lack of food. (I'll continue my novel after I get the normal food back though.)

Along with that, I can't smile properly. I can smile quite fully on the left side of my mouth but it gets stuck halfway on the right. So if I do give one of my original sweet smiles I now get something sly and twisted. A world without Rilla's smile is... *fill in the word*

Welcome back!! Great to see you back, and with a beautifullll layout under your belt =P I'm so in love with it, I'd marry it if it were marry-able.
I personally don't have any qualms with it now, maybe because of all the constructive criticism last blog, any little things have all been ironed out =P Hmm.. except maybe... well.. no, nothing at all =)

All four wisdom teeth pulled out at once? OW!! My friend who recently got hers out, but got them out one by one. Poor thing, I hope your mouth/jaw feels better realllly soon, miraculous overnight recovery =P

A world without Rilla's smile is like the feeling you get when you buy an ice cream and you drop it.
    LOL.

    I guess you aren't using a CMS?
I gave up on PHP and Mysql cause it takes so much time and I was always afraid of security issues. I love it, but I don't have time.

Maybe you could consider implementing a new CMS?

About mouth...I once was removed two teeth cause I didn't have space in my mouth and I need braces (yeah, very sexy). I couldn't eat anything but yoghurt, smashed potatoes and juice. I was skinny already but then I looked like a zombie with a swollen face, and skinny to the bone.

I hope it goes over pretty fast though. At least, you can see it as if you were in detox from junk food. :)

I really love this layout, especially the little tree in the corner. It's very pretty.

Ouch! About your wisdom teeth, I've not had mine pulled but I know people that have! Ouch, Ouch, Ouch! My wisdom teeth are coming through on and off at the moment and it kills when they are.

I hear getting the wisdom death out is painful and your face can be stiff and swollen for days. Hope you feel better soon.

Welcome back Rilla. I really like your new layout. It's very pretty.

When I got my wisdom teeth pulled out, they had to do it surgically because none of them had grown out yet. They put me to sleep through the whole procedure. My mouth was swollen after that and it also felt numb. It sucks not being able to eat what you want because you might bite your mouth without knowing, then later because your mouth is in too much pain after the anesthetics wares off. I hope your jaw feels better soon.

Gah, every time I try to learn PHP, my eyes get crossed because of all the brackets and parenthesis and etc. I'm envious of your abilities to even make a CMS. Good luck with you mouth (that sounded kind of strange). I'm getting braces in January, so that's going to be painful. I photoshopped braces onto my mouth, and it wasn't very pretty...

A world without Rilla's smile is like a world without Macs. A world without Macs would be a very cold place to live in...

Oh my, I am so sorry that you are still in pain and stiff. Let me think for a moment, umm.........a warm cloth on the outside of you jaws for about twenty minutes should help the stiffness and pain temporarily. Witch Hazel rubbed on your face (not on the surgery area) area of the jaw should ease some of the pain. These are just suggestions. I don't even know if you can find Witch Hazel where you live. I can find the actual bark here and I can make the liquid myself without having to buy it, but I don't know how you will or if you can find it.

In my opinion phpMyAdmin is good for the minimal use but for continual use it completely sucks. A admin panel is definitely is better. But until you get to feeling better, you won't feel like coding it.

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

A world without your smile just kills a part of my soul.

I can't imagine not smiling all the time. Or trying to smile and looking freaky instead :P

Yikes. Talk about the back teeth that bothers you and pull them out. I'm only 19 and still hasn't grown any wisdom teeth >.> But anyways you should feel better when the pain is gone though.

And Good Job on this new layout. I like it.

AAHHHH! I didn't see this new design in time to comment on your last post! All I have to say is that it's super adorable (: And seems like people are liking the whole placing your navigation on the bottom deal (: It looks great!

I remember when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. It was terrible. I feel your pain. :( They put me under, and when I woke up it was though I was wasted... and then the soft foods... I hated it. Feel better soon.

Also, good luck with the site work. I'm waiting patiently for your personal section (that sounded far too creepy - It's not like that. I swear.)
