18th Birthday Cursed

I spent the past week planning for my 18th birthday celebration happening tomorrow. I have eight friends coming and I'm holding it at a nice ~~Belgium~~ Belgian (I think) bar/restaurant place just opposite a nice beach. Since this will be my first birthday celebration in my eighteen years of life so far, I really want it to go well. Unfortunately, I have a feeling my eighteenth year is cursed.

We have had great Summer weather for the past few weeks but this morning, the Northern regions of New Zealand woke up to an ugly, rainy day. Mum told me a tornado is coming into Auckland tomorrow. Luckily, there was nothing about that on the news but there will definitely be some showers and strong winds. What really scared me was Mum telling me to postpone my celebration or I might kill my friends tomorrow. I know, her crazy talk again.

Though what's worse, it's Sir Edmund Hillary's funeral tomorrow. I swear it's another omen. It's like that dream of mine about dying while I'm 18 all over again.

But I'm not going to postpone because lots of my friends have already gotten out of work shifts for me and they refuse to face a postponement. So well, if I disappear, may I rest in peace and I demand all of you to miss me. These thoughts are making me creepy so I'll try think happy things and look forward to a happy 18th birthday. Legal!

Update: I'm 18! I'm 18! I'm 18! Legal! Now I can legally have rose petal bubble baths with champagne. Then sex.

Happy 18th Birthday! I'm sure you won't die! I was sure I wouldn't make it past 18, and now I'm 19. Mind, I don't feel 19. And often, when people ask my age, I say "18." Then, they look surprised, since I look younger, and I go, "No! Wait! I'm 19!" Which results in me fumbling for my I.D. to prove it. *Sigh*

You'll be fine. Auckland's weather is so unpredictable anyway and it could end up all sunny and nice.

For some reason, I thought you were older than 18. Probably because you've already been at uni for a year. Did you skip a year or something?

Lol 16 is the legal age for sex here so it doesn't make much difference. Just 16 still seems under-age since porn videos are R-18.

Simply do not let any bad luck or omen in your way when you are turning into an adult. Another 3 more years till you are legal to drink alcohol. (which I dislike but I'll have to bear with it)

I supposed that, the day of January 21, 2008 is blue monday says that its the most depressing day of the year, which most people suffer, (including me ) don't you think it's a coincidence?

o_o certainly didn't expected that. Ah well, most countries allow drinking at 18 as well. United States raised the age to 21 for reducing DWIs which it still doesn't help.
