My life is complete
At least for the next few years.
Academically, my grades have improved a whole lot over the past year since I started dating Stephen. I totally disproved the traditional-Asian-parents theory that boyfriend = distraction = fail grades. I’ve also sorted out the rest of my papers in uni and will graduate in just half a year!
After graduation, I have a job lined up for me. I’ve worked part time there for the past two years and did not want to leave. Fortunately, my boss did not want me to either.
For years I hoped and hoped for a long-term relationship that would last for at least a year. I’ve reached that goal and just based on the fact that Stephen has gotten me an iPod and a Wii so far for these two Christmases I think I made an awesome choice.
And now… just one most challenging goal: sexy body.
It’s so easy to gain weight working full time in an office with a boss that loves food just as much as I do. So what I’m starting to do now is:
- Working out or going swimming just about once every other day;
- Home exercises almost every night; and
- Reduce consumption of fatty, oily and sugary foods.
I have to look good for my sister’s wedding in November next year! Any tips from anyone who has been there and done that?

Congrats! I think 11 months will be more than enough time to get a sexy body

Sounds like everything’s going well for you! I also disagree with the boyfriend = distraction = fail grades. I did quite poorly in the semester before I started dating. By the second year of the relationship, which was the last year of my degree, I got nothing but Distinction grades! Take that, expectations!
Argh yes, office work = weight gain unless you exercise. Once upon a time I used to be as thin as a stick but now I have to actively exercise to try to fight the weight gain. It also gets worse if you go on the Pill.
I do cardio-exercises 3 times a week for about 45 minutes (hooray for having a DDR mat xD).

@Belinda: me too! I had like the thinnest waist and smallest clothing size in most New Zealand stores and now it’s like ahhhh that’s history. Stephen got me Wii and we’ll get Wii Fit soon so yayyy fun exercises. xD

Wow, it sounds like your life has been amazing during your blogging absence! and yay for the Christmas presents ;)
As for getting a sexy body – I’m sure you already have one? Keeping a man for a year? haha jokes. Just remember it’s about the muscle and tone, not about the scales. Btw, if you’re opting for swimming, it takes a lot of really intense swimming to get nice abs and legs. Like a couple of kilometres in the pool in one day, once a week.

@Amanda: ouch that intense swimming? I wasn’t hoping that swimming would tone my muscles anyway, it’s more to balance the calories I get from eating.
And it’s a nice exercise I enjoy. Also got a Wii Fit today wheeeee.

Rilla baby, it’s about commitment. I like your idea of swimming. Try to do some fun activities that exercise the heart… you’d never know it was a cardio workout
I like dancing.
I also suggest you think about your budget. Usually I’m frugal with my money (but not lately, since I’ve been getting paid), this helps me resist the temptation to buy food from outside.
Good luck girl. You already have a sexahhh face, so the body should come in no time for you.

@Fainaru: I love dancing too. I’m planning to take a Burlesque class once uni starts, but I don’t have the talent.
Budgeting is a good idea. Most of my spending is on food. I should put more of my savings in term deposit then I’ll have to eat little!

Can I have your life?
Just kidding, I’m extremely happy for you
I think your plan sounds great and if you follow it, you should have a hottt body by November of next year. If you’re like me, I would suggest signing up for classes to keep up the motivation. Lululemon in the U.S. offers a free yoga class every week; I don’t know if you guys have something similar in NZ? Also, I’ve gotten into Turbo Kick, I’m trying to get into Zumba and spinning (all these classes are free for students at my university athletic center), and I’ve always wanted to take a pole dancing class (my uni unfortunately doesn’t offer *that*)

@Meg: Yup I’ve started going to uni classes too. I finished a hip hop course last semester and that was really fun. And *hi5* I’ve always wanted to take a pole dancing class too.
