Latest Internet obsessions

I used to think all those Web 2.0 social bookmarking and posting websites were useless. As in, I used to. Firstly, a while ago I gave in to del.icio.us, then Tumblr, then Last.fm, Twitter and the latest Flickr. (There are actually more.) Well what is the point of knowing what others are doing and listening to? Stalking purposes of course. Need I say more?
Along with that, I also installed the Firefox extensions Twitterbar (absolute love) and Shareholic to assist in posting to some of those.
Of course, can't skip out my own website. I spent a while putting my Twitter into the footer and hours this morning to get my Flickr photos onto my new Photographs page. It was a mission because they're stupid enough to not provide easier ways of displaying tweets/photos on user websites by PHP. And I didn't want the JavaScript and Flash options because pfft, PHP > all. Now add me if you're active on any of those sites. My username is usually either "wildx" or "wildx22" anywhere.
This is an open invitation to stalk me!
On another note, I'm finding it really weird how I can't access wildx.org on my computer (works for others) most of the time when snow-willow.com always works. And they're both on the same server so technically they should either be both up or both down. Sometimes I'd be halfway through uploading something to the site when I can't connect through anymore. Therefore, please excuse any obvious and ugly overnight code errors you may come across.

Version 19. Ta-da.

Feedback first. And then I'll get to work on the rest of the pages.
PHP and CSS should make changing layouts easy right? Unfortunately, it's not the way I do things. I'll proofread all my pages and replace the "obsolete coding" so... Here's launching the new layout in stages.
Love it? Hate it? Think it needs more touching up here and there? Go on. You have been cordially invited to speak up.
Updates
You guys are surely nit-picky and harsh with your criticisms. It's okay, I can handle it cause I asked for it. *bangs head on wall* Keep it coming. You guys merely pricked my poor self-esteem.
So here's me doing some changes:
- Lene:
reduce font-size - Vera:
update verification code thingie - Vera and Amanda::
widen content areaand now it's lost the cuteness
- Vera:
darken background colour - Leila:
change default gravatar
Look at all the comments from Vera you cruel thing. Hope the design-change won't discourage you people from visiting.
I won't touch the graphical parts of the header because I still love the tree, title and tabs even though you might not.
Thanks!
(If the design looks funny here and there, don't forget Ctrl+F5. And some of you must have very bright screen colours.)
I'm a rotten banana II
1 October 2007, 5:56 pm. 18 Comments. Filed under Site-related.
So the previous story was about a guy referring to me as a "rotten banana" because he thinks I look black outside and act white inside. My responses roused a lot of drama between us (quite a whole heap of fun drama, actually) but that's not the story here.
It's just funny because other than keywords that actually relate to my site, the most search keyword(s) that has referred visitors to this site is related to that entry. How could there be several instances of "rotten bananas"? Why would you want to look up "rotten bananas" in the first place? For the past 30 days:
- rotten bananas (5)
- not a banana (4)
- rottEN (2)
- boys with bananas (2)
- monkey+banana
- bananas slugs
Thanks, funny people. I even made my site a destination for people interested in bananas. That's emphasising my new "nickname" isn't it?
But I still have trouble figuring out how Technorati showed I got linked by Sarah with the description of:
Comments Sarah on women over 45 are always hot Rilla on women over 45 are always hot Rilla on Commando award possibilities Amber on women over 45 are always hot one over the hill woman on women over 45 are always hot RSS
So what's that supposed to mean? "hot Rilla" or Sarah, Rilla and Amber "on women over 45 are always hot". Either way, dodgy stuff. I don't know, someone might like to step forward and clarify that for me.
Any funny searches and incoming link descriptions to share about your websites?
