Hobbyist Web Designer
I may arrogantly refer to myself as a “web designer”, but I do not claim to be a professional and I don’t plan to be at this stage. Such a subject is not in my foreseeable studies or career path. Though as the site name suggests, I am passionate for website design and coding, perhaps more so than many who make a full-time job out of it.
Style
I am all for simplicity. That does not mean I dislike more complicated themes but I tend to create simpler designs. In fact, whether it be websites, home interior or fashion, I favour the mature classic style with a limited colour palette over a magnificent spectrum-full of bright colours. Though generally, I design naturally depending on my mood or inspirations at the time. It’s just a way of expressing myself.
Experience
I stuck my foot into this website-creating business in December 2002 and at the time, I created my web pages with Microsoft FrontPage. By May 2003 I finally got a grasp of HTML and started coding without a page builder. I commenced practice in the art of PHP and MySQL coding since the beginning of 2004. In summary, I have almost a decade of experience in website design and coding under my belt, together with natural talents and a creative mind (now that’s getting cocky).
At the moment, I consider myself to have an unprofessionally-proficient level of understanding in HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL, and am delving into the wonder world of JavaScript (jQuery) and Ajax.
