My life is complete

At least for the next few years.

Academically, my grades have improved a whole lot over the past year since I started dating Stephen. I totally disproved the traditional-Asian-parents theory that boyfriend = distraction = fail grades. I’ve also sorted out the rest of my papers in uni and will graduate in just half a year!

After graduation, I have a job lined up for me. I’ve worked part time there for the past two years and did not want to leave. Fortunately, my boss did not want me to either.

For years I hoped and hoped for a long-term relationship that would last for at least a year. I’ve reached that goal and just based on the fact that Stephen has gotten me an iPod and a Wii so far for these two Christmases I think I made an awesome choice. 3 My life is complete

And now… just one most challenging goal: sexy body.

It’s so easy to gain weight working full time in an office with a boss that loves food just as much as I do. So what I’m starting to do now is:

  • Working out or going swimming just about once every other day;
  • Home exercises almost every night; and
  • Reduce consumption of fatty, oily and sugary foods.

I have to look good for my sister’s wedding in November next year! Any tips from anyone who has been there and done that?

New view on beauty

Last year, I looked down on fake cake faces. This year, I have begun to bow to the magnificent powers of professional make-up and Adobe Photoshop.

When you cut off a model/celebrity’s access to godly photographing/photo-editing skills and knock off their powders, how many of them still look so stunningly mouth-gapingly attractive?

What’s physical beauty nowadays? Fake eyelashes, fake boobs, million-dollar noses and what else? It’s because you can’t see at first instance into the inner content contained within this outer shell that physical appearances do matter so much to a certain extent. Pretty people do receive extra benefits. People often (at least) begin with treating good-looking people better. And hence, I’ve changed my views.

With the latest make-up technology, it makes no difference in the end whether the person had natural beauty initially or not. It is time to recognise that superficial beauty prevails over natural beauty at least in the short-term. It is time to succumb to routine face-caking and eye-painting sessions.

Just because I can’t spare enough money for a full set of Chanel and Christian Dior make-up equipment, laser treatments and regular beauty therapy, I’ll have to live with my flawed shell and get used to unfair treatment.

Bottom-line: Money = Beauty. Once again, money makes the world go ’round dammit.

Sizzling, sizzling hot hour. Pole dance, lap dance, air humping… This is what it means to be part of the Auckland Law School. I have trouble imagining any of them as a famous barrister or judge ten years into the future though.
